Privacy Policy

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and a securely hashed password. You may also provide a display name.

Activity you create. The shows and movies you track, episodes you mark watched, your ratings, reviews, and watchlist. This is the core of the product — it is stored so we can show it back to you.

Technical data. Basic device and app information (operating system version, app version) and crash or error diagnostics, used to keep the app stable.

We use your information to operate the app: to authenticate you, sync your library across devices, power your feed and friend activity, and diagnose and fix bugs. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

CineIt relies on a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:

• TMDB — provides show, movie, and cast metadata. We send search queries and title identifiers to TMDB; we do not send your personal information.
• Sentry — collects crash and error diagnostics to help us fix issues.
• Our hosting provider — stores the database and runs the API that powers the app.

Your data is stored in a managed database accessed only over encrypted connections. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. On your device, your session is kept in the system keychain (Secure Store) and the app can be locked behind Face ID.

We keep your account and activity data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information and activity are removed from our systems, except where we are required to retain limited records by law.

You can access and update your information from within the app. You can request a copy of your data, or request that we delete your account and associated data, by contacting us at the address below. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

CineIt is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
